Formal Mess Dinner of the newly formed @48highlanders and the Queen's Own of each units H Companies.
If only we had these tents now adays! Queen's Own recruiting booth during the First World War.
We had a great QOR day at Casa Loma today! We thank everyone who attended today!
Bugle band of the 2nd Reserve Battalion in Niagara 1945. The Regiment had numerous Reserve battalions throughout the Second World War. They would recruit and generate rifleman for the 1st Battalion serving over in Europe.
QOR of C, enabled by the generous provision of funds through private assets, deployed a small contingent to the Netherlands October 2022 to commemorate the ultimate sacrifice by a member of the Regiment, Lt Kavanagh (KIA April 1945, age 23.) The previously unknown remains were identified in 2019 and a dedication of the headstone in Steenderen General Cemetery near Rha. We were also graced with the presence of Lt Kavanagh's nephew who flew from Toronto to attend the ceremony. 🍁
One of our museums most exciting addition to our collection is a 1860s era Rifles Officers Shako. This Shako is in pristine condition and it's a miracle to have survived this long! This is the headdress that QOR Rifleman would have worn at the battle of Ridgeway in 1866.

Over 11,000 museum photos on Flickr!
