Cecil was born on June 4, 1922 in Norland, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army on November 26, 1942 and served with the Canadian Infantry Corps, the Queen’s Own Rifles and the Scottish Regiment in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe. He landed on D-Day, first day, second wave and was involved in every battle from France to Holland. After his discharge on February 6, 1946’he returned home on the first ship back to Canada. Cecil passed away on July 7, 2003.
