Morris, Stanley E.

1994 Sgts Major MorrisChief Warrant Officer Stan E. Morris, CD was born in Toronto and attended York Memorial Collegiate.  He joined the Queen’s Own Rifles in January 1955.

In 1961 – 1962 Stan, along with future Regimental Sergeant Majors Rick Dory, Syd Byatt, and Mike Holland left his job at Canada Customs and went on callout for a year as an instructor on infantry; nuclear, biological, and chemical warfare; and light search and rescue courses.  Following the callout he returned to Customs and Excise.

Stan spent  some time as Pioneer Sergeant and in 1967 was presented with the Canadian Forces Decoration by the Colonel in Chief, Princess Alexandra.

Morris was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer and appointed Regimental Sergeant Major in 1971.  He retired in 1974.

Stan continued with Customs and Excise, becoming a Dominion Customs Appraiser.  On attaining that position he and his wife, Peggy, moved to Ottawa.  After retiring from Canada Customs and Excise Stan started his own business as an international Consultant  for companies dealing with Canada Customs and Excise.
