
B64464 WOI J.P. Moore, CD, was a D-Day veteran and the Regimental Sergeant Major of the 3rd Battalion The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada from 1958-61.
Moore was born in Toronto in 1921 to Charles and Lenore Moore. He worked at Monogram Glass in Toronto and was married to Florence Patricia Hubbard, they had two daughters and a son.
Known as “JP” or “Jimmy”, he was a Bren carrier driver with the QOR in WWII. He once proved his claim to be the best carrier driver in the world by driving one into the Sergeants’ Mess at Camp Niagara.
On retirement, JP & Flo moved to their cottage on Lake Scugog and lived there until his death in 2005.
