Captain C. J. Hampton, CD was a veteran of the Second World War and Korea and a qualified paratrooper.

Enlisted in 1939 with the Royal Canadian Regiment in Canada, England, Italy and Holland.
Remained in Army after WWII in Europe before being deployed to Korea in June 1950.
After Korea transferred to 1st Battalion, The Queen’s Own Rifles in 1953, serving in Germany, Canada and Cyprus and rising to become Regimental Sergeant Major. Also served as RSM for the 2nd Battalion and the Regimental Depot. Commissioned prior to retiring. in 1972.
