On 09 February 1998, a long time member of the Regiment passed away. Jimmy Dickson died in his 87th year. Jimmy was a member of the QOR Bugle Band and a World War Two Veteran. He was well known in the Regiment and well liked.

Jimmy was born in 1911 in Dondonald (Belfast), Northern Ireland to Isabella and Thomas. Following World War II, Jimmy worked for the City of Toronto until retirement. Jimmy was not only a member in the Bugle Band, but also a member of The Ulster Flute Band and The Wellington Flute Band, and played the part of the crusty old bartender in the Buglers’ Mess for many years. He is buried in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Toronto.
