COOK, Orville M.

020200223_0022Corporal Orville Cook was born on April 11, 1921 in Toronto, Ontario.

He enlisted in the Army in June 1940. He served with the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada in France, Belgium, Germany, and Holland during World War II.

He was discharged on August 8, 1945, and went to work for Brinks Canada until his retirement at 65.

Orville is featured in Roy Whitsed’s book “Queen’s Own Rifles” with a chapter called “Cookie’s Luck”. He was a member of Tara Legion Branch 383 for 48 years.

Orville passed away on April 5, 2011.
