Buckle, John James

Captain James J. Buckle, Director of Music

Captain John James Buckle was born on 28 October 1879 in Ketton Rutland, England, the son of John Buckle and Mary Herald.

He married Maud McKnight and had two children: M. Eileen Maud Buckle and J. Herald Buckle.

He became The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada’s Director of Music in 1928.

Buckle died in 1956 and is buried in Toronto’s Park Lawn Cemetery.
