B134468 Rifleman Lewis John Vipond was born in Pickering County, Ontario on September 20, 1914, the son of Myron Bray Vipond
and Florence Gertrude Vanstone.

In 1938 he married Doris Irene Love and they had several children.

He enlisted in the Army in 1944 and served with the Queen’s Own Rifles in Europe from 12 July 1945. Lewis played hockey for the Army Team in Winter 1945-1946.

After his discharge in 1946, he worked for Massey-Harris and became a Parts Manager due to his extensive knowledge of farming needs. He was a member of Brooklin Legion Branch 152.

Lewis passed away on 4 March 1999. He is buried in Groveside Municipal Cemetery, Whitby, Ontario.
