Line, William

Colonel William Line, OBE, 66, Professor of Psychology at the University of Toronto, died at the Toronto East General Hospital on 13 February 1964.

In the Second World War, he joined the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1939 and served in Newfoundland. Although he tried to go overseas he was posted to Army Headquarters as Director of Personnel Selection in the rank of
Colonel.

Dr. Line was a consultant at the World Health Organization and the United Nations of personnel policies. He was the founder and consultant of the
International Institute of Child Study of UNESCO both locally and in Bangkok, Thailand.

He was a past president of the Canadian Psychological Association and the World Federation of Mental  Health.
