Lavelley, Peter

788954 Private Peter Lavelley was born on 10 March 1897 in Combermere, Ontario, the son of Jack and Filliemene Lavelley. He was  a member of the Golden Lake Band, Ontario

Lavelley enlisted in Pembroke, Ontario on 15 April 1916 with the 130th Battalion, CEF. He sailed from Halifax with the battalion on the SS Lapland on 23 September 1916.

On 12 November 1916, he was transferred to the 3rd Battalion and joined them in France almost a month later.

Private Lavelley was killed in action aged 20, on 10 April 1917 at the Battle of Vimy Ridge. He has no known grave and is memorialized at the Vimy Memorial in France.
