As a direct descendant of Patrick Cunningham, I am grateful for the Sergeant’s Mess. I had never previously viewed a earlier photo of my great grandfather whom my deceased mother resembled. The emotion runs deep, as does the fight and fire. Thank you for your presentation and the information which, as a family, so enriched our very limited understanding. My grandmother, Ida Cunningham, was born at Fort York. When I learned about Patrick’s history, I understood my grandmother and my mother much better. They liked a quick response and lots of action.
